Description

Healthy altitude above the Moselle valley: the air is fresh and the silence is complete; healing water flows from the tap.

You can expect to holiday in 70 m² with 1 bedroom onto an open gallery (organic bed: 1.90 m x 2.00 m), 1 living room (with organic sofabed for another 2 persons: 1.60 m x 2.10 m) plus 1 organic single bed (0,90 m x 2,00 m), 1 kitchen-living room with door to the terrace and 1 comfortable bathroom with bath and shower, washing machine and dryer.

Special features
The former old barn is still noticeable in many details on and in the cottage; at the same time, no modern technology was spared during the renovation: LAN network available (simply plug in a laptop – three access points can be used simultaneously), on request also WIFI (can be switched off) and SAT-TV (Ultra-HD) with internet access.

The roof windows have solar-powered outside blinds: perfect protection against light and heat.

Built-in professional safe, also usable for files and laptop (keys available at check-in against a deposit of € 100) and stereo system.

Own entrance (front door) including courtyard with bench and free car parking.

Relax and enjoy the lawn.

Guests are allowed to use the large garden adjoining the patio to simply enjoy nature, e.g. in a deckchair in the middle of the garden or at the table at the very back of the garden, to eat, drink, read, chat, relax under the maple tree, meditate, listen to the animals …
On the meadow there is also a double swing for children, and if necessary a paddling pool can be set up, which is large enough for adults to cool off. And: You are immediately in nature from here! After the large lawn for sunbathing, hiking trails begin immediately, where you can enjoy the altitude above the Moselle and above the city of Trier for hours. Some of these paths also belong to excellent cycling routes; longer distances can be enjoyed on trekking bikes.

Route to the cottage up the Trier valley

ROUTE DESCRIPTION:

Orientate yourself at the “Gut Avelsbach”; you can reach this old wine-growing estate by turning left from the Avelsbacher Str. (there are 4 glass containers) into the little street “Im Aveler Tal” and then after a small wood and a meadow turn left into the Baltzstraße.

After the old wine-growing estate, continue up the hill until you reach the top. There you will find the old workers’ settlement of this estate. My property is the last one on the left side – No. 16; your cottage is the old barn on the left side of my house; you can park your car right in front of it.

House rules

Smoking is not permitted on the property, only on the street.
2 cats live next door, who like to visit. These cats are not allowed in the house; I kindly ask you to observe this for the protection of allergy sufferers.
The observance of the legal rest periods is obligatory.
Parties or events are not allowed.
Guests are obliged to report any damage that has occurred during their stay – regardless of the cause – as soon as possible, but at the latest upon departure. They are fully liable for any damage caused by themselves during their use. If the house key is lost, a guest is liable for 100,- € each, as the cylinder and key have to be replaced.
The owner cannot be held liable for short-term loss of furnishings, public utilities such as electricity and water, including the failure of the heating; a price reduction is excluded. The same applies in case of force majeure.
The owner reserves the right to change the equipment of the rooms / the house.
The owner is not liable for valuables and assets of the guests.
The final cleaning is included in the rent. If possible, the kitchen should be left in the same condition in which you found it on departure.
The owner or an authorized person is entitled to enter the house and the rooms as required, e.g. for repairs or similar that have become necessary at short notice.
Please close all windows when leaving the house and be sure to extinguish or switch off candles and electric light as well as electrical appliances such as stove, coffee machine, etc. when leaving.

A beautiful little sanctuary on a hill above Trier. Hildegard’s house has everything that one could need. The space is very stylish with lots of very nice little touches. We had a lot of rain during our stay and the house was so welcoming, warm and comfortable for our family. I can only imagine it will be truly idyllic in the summer months.

We spent one week in this accommodation for our first family vacation with our one-year-old son. The place was exactly what was promised in the pictures: spacious, light, clean and open. It’s really a home away from home, with all the facilities you could want. It’s amazing that such a place can exist: you’re very close to Trier by car, yet it feels completely away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s on a hill between the vineyards so you immediately feel in a different place. For parents of young kids who think of going here, it is helpful to know that the house is very open and you can easily hear what is going on on another floor, so if you have a child that wakes up at every sound, this might not be for you. There is also nothing to close off the stairs for a young child which may be inconvenient. But apart from this, it is a wonderful place for families and Hildegard is super friendly and welcoming towards kids. I certainly highly recommend this location.

We would highly recommend staying with her.
